Anyways, just a brief update.

My wide angle lens, has not arrived yet, I rang the company who said they were sorry for the delayed post, but due to Aust. Post striking and public holidays, its taking longer than normal. I am really hoping it comes tomorrow!

Its still raining here!!! We've had 3.5 inches so far today and its still raining steadily outside. Incredibly humid as well! Double bonus!

But at least it means that the creeks that flow into waterfalls on the coast are starting to fill up and make beautiful flowing waterfalls, not just a trickle of water dropping down rocks. So tomorrow morning I am venturing down to Buderim Forest to Serenity Falls to get a couple of pics and I maybe a few others around the coast later in the week after work.

I go back to work tomorrow afternoon and then finish again on Friday afternoon. My family and I are going camping for 2 weeks at the beach so that shall be great fun!

I have finally decided where to go traveling for my birthday. My bestie was telling me about her trip to Byron Bay last year and I have been there a few times and loved it...so Im gunna hit up Byron Bay for a few days and the hinterland around and the many amazing beaches (and surfbreaks) and amazing photo opportunities! So a few friends and I are going to have a few days away camping (if the weather is good, otherwise backpacking hostel) and enjoying the sights and scenes around Byron Bay.

Anyways, gunna be up early tomorrow morning

Yeah this time of year is kinda what I classify as the "inbetween" time...as its the time between Christmas and New Year, which is pretty much a holiday time! I dont work in this period of holiday time, as i dont go back to work until the 4th of January so its great!!

Anyways, big news first!

:devBrisburians: and #SydneySyders ran two contests in conjuction to each other – Going Red for #Brisburnians and Going Blue for #SydneySyders I entered my Afternoon Glory photo in the Going Red contest held by #Brisburnians and it turns out I won!! I cannot believe it I am stoked It made my Christmas finding that out I would like to thank the group admin and the judges and to all those entered. Thank you all

Hope you all had a great Christmas, Santa bought you what you wanted, you enjoyed the time with family and friends and the weather was kind to you

I currently am enjoying listening to the steady rain falling on the roof while watching the cricket on the TV. Australia is playing Pakistan in the Boxing test match and the Aussies are doing quite well

I am still rather scared of going out driving anywhere around the coast with the scary drivers on the road. Christmas Eve, i nearly ended up in 6 crashes. One lady went around a corner and just drove from her lane into my lane without indicating or any room, thankfully i was quick on the brakes and the car behind me wasnt pleased tho, then in a carpark, one car reversed out from my left, another fro my right...i was stuck in the middle of it (car in front of me had stopped) and beeped my horn so loudly finally they stopped, just short of my car...eeeek!!

Although I am still waiting for the postie to come and deliever my new wide angle lens, I do hope its soon. Its raining, dark cloud overcast atm so its terrible conditions, but occasional light patches shining through the clouds dwn across the farmlands on the Obi Obi are spectacular so hopefully it comes soon so I can give it a good try out.

New Years is just a few days away and with that it brings the new year 2010. I do hope 2010 will bring a better year, this year has been an up-dwn year with plenty of challenges. I have decided to take the year off of studying at Uni to work fulltime and get some money behind me so I complete my Uni course without having to worry about working overtime to get through. I do hope twenty ten will bring a better year with my health as well. I've had 9 nine ear infections, all of which middle ear which are very painful. Swine Flu flared up my Asthma which still hampers me, and my injured shoulder improved then unimproved and still is only at 40% which I hope improves soon. I have never been one to be sick a lot so I do hope that improves next year


Anyways I have been searching through dA quite a bit over the last 2 or so days and found some great new young Aussie deviants to watch. Please check out their work, its well worth it

MERRY CHRISTMAS



Hope this holiday season brings you a joyous time with family, friends, good food and many great memories!!

Its a 3 and a bit hrs off of Christmas day here, and im relaxing in my recliner watching the Christmas carols and enjoying a few quiet drinks with the family - cranberry and lime twists hehe an exoctic taste in vodka haha!

Anyways its forecasted to be about 35 tomorrow with storms n rain predicted late in the afternoon as the usual but shall be beaching it up anyways

A quiet morning home with a champagne brekky with mangoes, pink champas, lychees, ham off the bone, chocolate peanuts and a huge lotta fruit Then off to church, then home for lunch, more ham off the bone, yummmmm!! A quick visit to my Auntys place in the arvo to see all dads family before heading to our friends place for dinner who live dwn the beach...ahhh shall be a great day!

Hope you all enjoy your day and celebrating just the way you do! Whether you're snowed in, sweltering in heat or enjoying a bit of both, have fun

My Rant follows on below...





Bad drivers, that really do tick me off!!!

And atm since its holidays, the Sunshine Coast is littered with them!! Hire cars amass, teragos and getz cars everywhere. Today I drove to work at Coolum, nearly got swiped by 2 buses dirving on my side of the road, 3 getz cars and a terago...to which none indicated as they came from the gong straight lane into the turning lane and into the street while im turning! And no matter how many times I beep my horn and try and stay clear of them they still drive bad...hmph...

Yesterday I watched old grandpa drive out of a carpark n onto the road and then turn in behind a parked car, in the parking spot on the side of the road, thinking he could turn in that "lane" and wen the light went green and we all went he sat their beeping at the parked Ute, hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!! he was trying to get a parked car to move...haha


Anyways I've finished work for the year Yay, holidays now until the near year, then back at work for a week before 2 weeks of holidays!!! Woooo! Camping on the beach for two weeks, awesome!!!

Just a quick update with a huge lotta features I only have 14% battery left on my laptop and my power cord is in my brothers room and he's asleep and I daren't not enter if i want to live, he doesnt like being woken up...its dwn to 13% now..haha!

Anyways I shall write a bit more in the morning.

Also, i think the new groups system needs to look at things...because I am sick of getting my inbox flooded with deviations with 400 a day, its ridiculous, I want to stay in the groups tho. Fair enough the contest entries...but groups need to restrict to one a week/fortnight/month, as i am sick of seeing someones 15 photos of a badly taken series of the sunset from last friday, saturday n sunday! ceriously!!!!!

Right its now 12% so I better get my rant over and done with!!

Australia Post needs to learn to choose better times to strike, coz I wanted my new Wide angle lens by Christmas but it looks like i wont be getting on time because the post is too busy striking for better work conditions, yes i think they prob need better work conditions but please do not strike at Christmas. Surely they want their own mail getting thru to them!!

My last bit of my rant..really only for the Aussies on dA...I am really not liking how Channel 9 is advertising Merry Christmas to their viewers as being a cold Christmas, wearing snow clothes, fake snow and yet outside its 35+ degrees celsius outside with sweat and heat exhaustion nothing near cool!!!! So channel 9 aussie it up and start being Aussie coz we dont a get a white christmas like you advertise, we get a hot, sunny Aussie Christmas

Okay rants all done...im done to 8% and still need to send some things off before I lose power...

Well indeed it is...the busy time of the year.


Life seems to be flat out atm, but then my life usually is lol.
Christmas is only 13 days away, 13 days eeeeek!! New years is only 19 days away and my 20th bday is just over 5 weeks away. Exciting time of year!!

The weather been very hot recently, with a few bushfires around, typical aussie summer. We've had quite a few days in the high 30s (degrees celsius) and swimming, beach and air con have a been a must. I've been working most week days with wednesdays off. 7.30am - 6pm is a looooong day but its good money I guess. I get two weeks off in January when I'm going away camping so that'll be good. I'm hoping to get a Wide Angle Lens and a Fisheye Lens with the money earned working for a extra good christmas pressie. Hockey stops for a holiday break next week, same with soccer, so im gunna miss my 4 nights a week out at sport, but it means i have more time to get out and shoot on sunset

Havent had much time to get out and shoot landscapes. I've done a good handful of family shoots and portraits and have another wedding two days before Christmas. Havent had many clouds around either, mainly just when the storm fronts come through, if they ever reach the coast, hopefully I can get some storm photos sometime this summer. I want to get a few photos of the recent bushfires and cane baling in local fields and now that the suns not setting til later I can get out after work, but just wish the storm clouds would stay away from sunset!! especially since they're not bringing storms anyway!!

Currently dont have the net at home. We had a nasty thunderstorm on the weekend and a few lightning strikes took out or power and warped the net...so we're kinda struck down without net. Altho we finally have power back on now. So i took a drive into town today and love using free net at the public library! lol!
